About The Project
Management of Bantay Gubat and Strengthening of the Ipo Watershed Protection System also known as
Bantay Ipo Project is a 2-year (June 2025-May 2027) project that will focus on the “Institutionalization and
Strengthening of the Bantay Gubat” of the Ipo Watershed, in line with the 25 years Integrated Watershed
Management Roadmap for Angat-Ipo-La Mesa (IWMRAIL) developed by MWSS and the two (2)
Concessionaires – MWSI and MWCI.
The project has two major goals which are:
Arrest the continuous degradation of the various ecosystems within the Ipo Watershed by intensifying
forest protection and enforcement of applicable environmental laws and regulations, including the
development and implementation of management support interventions to sustain the provision of
various ecological services; and
Establish and operationalize a responsive and efficient system for managing the Bantay Gubat,
including its members' compensation, reporting, performance evaluation, and monitoring.
